How to apply for Annapurna Bhandar (Annapurna Yojana)

Applications for Annapurna Yojana are handled online through the West Bengal Social Registry citizen portal. Public notifications around May–June 2026 indicated online applications from approximately 1 June 2026. Confirm the live application button on the portal before you start. This page is an independent walkthrough—not the application form itself.

Last verified:

Before you start

  • Active mobile number for OTP on the official portal
  • Aadhaar and basic identity details as requested in the live form
  • Bank account details eligible for DBT (often the Aadhaar-linked account)
  • Proof of West Bengal residency as required by the current notification
  • Stable internet; avoid public Wi‑Fi when entering OTP

Required documents can change. Read the portal’s on-screen instructions for the authoritative list.

General application flow

  1. Visit https://socialregistry.wb.gov.in/citizen/ and locate Annapurna Yojana / related citizen service entry points.
  2. Register or log in using mobile OTP on the official site only.
  3. Fill personal details: age, address in West Bengal, and eligibility declarations (non–income-tax payer, not permanent government employee/pensioner, etc., as per published rules).
  4. Enter bank account information carefully; double-check account number and IFSC.
  5. Review declarations, submit, and save acknowledgment/reference number and any SMS confirmation.

After submission

Status usually moves from Application Submitted to Under Verification while data is matched with Aadhaar, bank seeding, and scheme rules. You can track progress by logging in again—do not use unofficial “track application” apps that ask for OTP.

If rejected, see our application rejected guide. We do not document appeal processes unless they are clearly described in official government publications.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying with a bank account not linked to Aadhaar when seeding is required
  • Multiple applications from the same person using different numbers
  • Typos in account number or IFSC
  • Using intermediaries who demand money to “guarantee” approval
